What is Rotary?
Rotary
was founded in Chicago on February 23, 1905 as the world's first
service club and is now a global network of over 2 million community
volunteers.
Who is in the Rotary Club of Lisle?

Like
other Rotary members throughout the world, Rotary Club of Lisle members
are business, professional, academic and religious leaders who strive
to make
our local community, our country and our world a better place to live.
We also have members who have retired from their careers but
haven’t retired from our Rotary ideal of service above self. Check out our Member List to see who is actually in the Rotary Club of Lisle.
What are Some Examples
of What We Do?
Our activities have included running blood drives, offering
scholarships to collegebound seniors, helping struggling families in
our local community, sending wheel chairs to the Congo, distributing
special shoes for diabetics in the Philippines and paying for wells in
Haiti. The Rotary Club of Lisle is very proud of the annual Red, White
& Blue Ball our club holds to support our country’s veterans.
Our inaugural event raised $10,000 for Operation Support Our
Troops-Illinois and The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans.
Whether the need is local, national or international, there’s
never a shortage of opportunities for Rotarians to reach out and help
others.
How do we raise funds?
Since Rotary isn’t a charitable, religious or political
organization which receives funds from outside sources, our club
creates opportunities and events geared toward building our community
and raising funds to be used for projects around the world. Our
main fundraisers include our annual Luck of the Irish Raffle, The Red,
White & Blue Ball and volunteering at the annual Lisle Eyes to the
Skies Festival in July. Our club receives a share of the
festival’s net proceeds based on the number of hours we work.
Plus, we’re always on the lookout for other ways to both raise
funds and serve our community, whether that be locally or globally.
Why Should You Join The Rotary Club of Lisle?
You’ll have fun meeting and networking with
local people who uphold high professional standards and ethics, while
knowing you’re making good things happen in Lisle and around the
world. Our club also holds social events for members and their
families throughout the year such as a bags tournament, holiday parties
and fireside chats.
